NICTA has established a successful Entrepreneurs in Residence Program. This program is designed to nurture better linkages between external entrepreneurs and NICTA researchers interested in commercialising their technologies.
Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiRs) are charged with identifying industry-specific market opportunities and working with NICTA’s researchers and commercialisation team to build world-class companies that exploit those gaps.
EIRs are business professionals who have a proven track record in taking technology businesses from the research phase to market.
NICTA only invites experienced entrepreneurs to join the program. These people have compelling stories, demonstrated expertise and a willingness to teach, advise and share their experience and insights with our researchers and students. EiRs are carefully selected by NICTA’s research and commercialisation executives, in consultation with our researchers.
EiRs share their insight and experience and help researchers and students more deeply understand the processes of innovation and venture building, while encouraging and mentoring project groups. Each residency is customised to fit the EiR’s availability, interest and skills. Opportunities for interaction include:
EiRs can expect the opportunities to shape a spin-out opportunity out of NICTA. If you are interested in finding out more or becoming involved in NICTA’s Entrepreneur in Residence Program please contact us via email (commercialisation<at>nicta.com.au).
