Abstract
In this seminar we consider recent developments in the uses of ICT for environmental management. We deal with issues from new sensors to novel methods for encoding and querying spatio-temporal databases. At the sensing end, specific issues related to in situ assessment of flora and fauna will be discussed using, for example, thermal imaging and imaging spectroscopy. At the other end, we will deal with issues of how to model and query spatio-temporal data using Bayesian Network models as they apply to areas such as land management, tracking and predicting animal behaviour.
