Research Collaboration
NICTA collaborates on research projects with many national and international research institutes and companies. NICTA engages in collaborative use–inspired research that is:
- Of a scale and quality which allows it to be internationally competitive
- Of national benefit to Australia
- Aligned with our Themes and Business Areas
- Truly collaborative, where both parties contribute to the work. NICTA is flexible when negotiating mechanisms for sharing IP and ensures any agreements are decided prior to the work beginning.
- in some cases able to provide opportunities for student involvement, although there can be some constraints in the participation of students.
Engagement occurs when researchers approach NICTA, or vice versa. The range of opportunities for researchers to engage with NICTA include:
- Collaborative projects
- Sponsorship of a PhD student
- Events such as Techfest
