ARTEMIS Orchestra Contest

As part of pre-tertiary educational outreach, NICTA participated for a number of years in the International ARTEMIS Orchestra Contest. The aim of the competition is to demonstrate the creative capabilitieis of Embedded Systems to the general public through enabling robots to play un-modified musical instruments. It is designed to foster interest in ICT amonst school students. The devices entered were displayed at Science Fairs and, in the case of the clarinet, at the Powerhouse Museum, and were viewed by thousands of school students. |
