David Everitt received the degrees of BE and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland in 1976 and 1981 respectively.
He worked from 1981 to 1986 at British Telecom Research Laboratories, from 1987 to 1988 at Telecom Australia Research Laboratories, from 1989 to 2000 at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Melbourne, Australia, and from 2000 to 2001 at Swinburne University of Technology. From 2002 to 2006, he held the Chair of Internetworking at the University of Sydney, School of Information Technologies. From July 2006 to June 2007, he was part-time consultant on networking technologies to CSIRO whilst pursuing a non-academic house-building project. He has been with NICTA since July 2007.
His research interests are in performance engineering for communication networks, especially with regard to wireless communications networks, local area networks, and all-optical networks.
