Director
Mr Loftus Harris is a non-executive director on boards in NSW, Victoria and Queensland, and is a National director of the Australian Institute of Export. He has held senior positions in the New South Wales and Queensland public sectors and in the Australian Trade Commission.
Mr Harris was Director General of the NSW Department of State and Regional Development for 10 years to late 2007, with responsibility for the government’s international trade, investment, innovation, business and regional development programs. Prior to that, he was Director General of the Queensland Department of the Premier, Economic and Trade Development, the Coordinator-General for Queensland, and Director General of the Department of Tourism, Small Business and Industry. He was an Australian Trade Commissioner for 15 years, serving in West Africa, Asia, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, and has wide experience in trade and investment between the United States and Australia.
Mr Harris holds the appointment of Special Trade Representative to the Middle East and India for the Queensland government. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008.
